Hey Guys!

Here are a couple pics of a few of us shooting on what was a BEAUTIFUL day in Western Washington! Targets were everything from 100-900+ yards. It's amazing how accurate these guys are! I felt blessed to be able to spend the day BS'ing about rifles, scopes, reloading, shooting, and reading the wind. GREAT time, with some GREAT guys! I look forward to doing it again! Check 'em out!

Lucas, checking out my US Optics SN-3 (MOA/MOA) as he's thinkin' of buying one. Currently it's mounted on my Tikka T3 Tactical (.308),... I love that little gun!

Jesse, examining my Swaro binos and Lucas, loading up a magazine for the barrage of artillery we unleashed on the country-side Smiley

Hany, taking an off-hand pull on his new Tikka T3 (.243) at a rock no bigger than your head at 350+ yards,... NAILED IT! While not his primary rifle, I think he's becoming a fan of Tikka's as he owns two of 'em right now Wink

Here's the line-up of bruisers! All are either total custom jobs or HEAVILY tricked out factory rifles. Optics are everything from mid-range to high-high-end.

Again, it was a great day: the weather, the location, the company,... first rate, and I can't wait to do it again!

Hope you like it!

It was great to get out there with you Ryan! I'd have to say looking through and shooting your Premier Heritage scope was the highlight for me! I'd love to get it side by side with a S&B... it's really that good! Unfortinately The NF and Mk4 are as high end as I'll get for a while  Sad. I was very impressed with the accuracy of your 260 (black AICS rifle in the pic) with the Corbon factory ammo! I can honestly say I've never seen factory ammo perform like that at 900yds... consistantly hitting a 13"x9" target (lit spot on a cliff) under less than perfect conditions. I'll let you know the next time we head out to do some shooting. Thanks for posting pics... my camera doesn't work.

Looks like a good time wish I could have been there.  You are giving me the itch to go shooting but am fresh out of primers  Sad Sad
I am getting some CCI to see if I can work up a load to get me through hunting season but I haven't had much luck with them in the past.  Last time I bought some CCI they ended up being used as a shim for my wife's plant to level it out LOL.

Primers are tough to get right now! You really need to come out west some time... It'd be fun to get out into the field together and do some shootin! You're going to have to build yourself a competition rifle (300win mag or smaller) and meet us at one of the shoots. We'll be at the Oregon Sniper Challenge but it may be filled up already and it's not very close to you. We get to shoot from a chopper in that one  Grin! It'll be a first for me.

Hey Lucas!

Yeah, it was a lot of fun! Thanks again for taking me up there with you guys! Yeah, those Cor-Bon 142 SMK's proved to be pretty dang accurate! That 5-shot string on that little rock at 900+ yards makes me want to take some time and chronograph 'em and build a drop chart - which I intend to do Smiley

On the topic of shooting from a helicopter,... I'd imagine a good quality AR15 or variant or such, lets say a 6.5 Grendel perhaps, might be a definite advantage when shooting from a moving platform. If you want, you're more than welcome to borrow mine with a Falcon Menace 4-14x44mm FFP TMR-Reticle on it to practice with and shoot at the competition - just let me know and it's yours to use! It uses standard mags and with a typical 30-round .243 mag you can hold 26-rounds of 6.5mm bullets. I'm not sure what the rules are in regard to the number of rounds you get to shoot, but if it's more of a timed event i.e. 5-minutes to hit all the targets, 26 flat shooting rounds all at the pull of a trigger would come in quiet handy! Smiley Let me know! I also have a standard AR15 in .243 with an ACOG+Doctor Red Dot you could borrow if you feel that would be more to your liking.

Thanks for the offer Ryan, that's very nice of you! You're right about the advantage of the semi-auto in that scenario. We have 10 seconds to engage 3 targets with as many rounds as you can get off. Since they'll only allow you to use 1 rifle for the entire match I'm going to stick with my 243. There's just enough long range stuff to make a bolt gun the better way to go (I think). I know you're busy for the next coupple weekends, but call me the next weekend you're free.

Hey Lucas!

Yeah, I'm actually available this weekend and the next, it's the weekend after that and POSSIBLY the weekend after that I won't be available - Surgery on my Tongue the 1st weekend (Yuck!) and POSSIBLY my Mom coming into town the following,... but it's looking doubtful that she'll be able to.

I think you've seen these, and might have even fired 'em before,... but I'm not sure Smiley Here's a pic of both the AR-15 (.243) & 6.5 Grendel. Up top is the .243 w/ACOG & Doctor Red Dot - it's a handy little rifle with the Magpul collapsible stock and ERGO grip,... I even have a folding vertical fore-grip if needed. On the bottom is the 6.5 Grendel with the 4-14x44mm Falcon Manace w/FFP TMR Reticule on a LaRue Tactical QD mount, Magpul PRS stock, 18" 1-in-7.5" Sabre Defense barrel. It also has a pretty nice Timney 2-stage trigger. I have excellent dies for both, but you'd only need the Grendel dies as you've already got a good set of .243 I'm sure.

Here's a 6.5 Grendel round (THE only one I currently have, but I've got lots-o-brass for it,...just no workbench to load 'em with at this point - you'd have to supply that Smiley ) and of course, the standard .243 round,...

Quite the difference,... both ballistically and looks-wise. Play around with the numbers and let me know if you'd be interested. It's a bad-@$$ little rifle and with the right ammo tuned for it,... Oh, boy Wink Look out! Cheesy

I don't want you to feel pressured into using it, I just want you or Jesse to know what it is, and that it's there for you should decide it would be useful. Let me know! Cheesy

Besides, you'd be doing me a favor as I'm sure your load development for it would make it a tack driver(!!) - I'd INSIST on you sharing your recipe with me once the competition is over Smiley

Those are some sweet AR's! Looks like a 6.5 grendel and 223 (243 must have been a typo)?  I have seen and shot your 6.5 Grendel  (baloons at 588yds). I'm going out of town with the wife to visit the mother-n-law this weekend  Embarrassed. We'll have to get out next weekend. If I get off work at a decent time tommarow we'll have to get your reloading equipment out of storage and get you set up again.

YES! it's a .223,... I was thinkin' of your .243 and must of just typed it accidentally. I won't be able to setup my bench tomorrow - got a little function I gotta go to after work, for work. Besides, the bulk of everything is in a storage locker Sad I might try figuring it out this weekend getting it set up. Have fun at the in-laws  Undecided There's a cure for that you know,...  Get er done ,...  Grin
