After plating the chrome does need to be polished to the required finish but custom barrels are polished anyways so I really can't think of any reason why match grade barrels are not chrome plated.

Maybe the accuracy of the barrel diminishes too fast to make chrome lining even worth the cost. It will be interesting to find out the reason.

I guess there are internal dimension issues. The chrome is so hard that lapping after chroming in not an option. Although chrome lined barrels seem to shoot as good as their un-chromed counterparts...(in rifles that have chrome lined barrels available) it's not acceptable within the "match" barrel market to have dimensional error of any more than already exists due to the machining/rifling process. Benchmark has not done any chrome lined barrels and probably won't be testing any in the near future.

         I am also working in a plastic molding company. All the things that disturbedone5009 said because I am also doing that in the factory.
