Just received my Benchmark barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor and wanted to know if anyone can vouch for any of the following bullets: 139 gr Scenar, 140 gr Amax, 140 gr VLD, or 142 SMK?

Thanks

My 6.5 Benchmark (260) will be done shortly. Most of my buddies are using Benchmark 6.5's. I know that the 142 SMK's, 139 Scenars and 140gr Berger VLD's all work very well. They also like the 130gr and 140gr JLK's and the most impressive results have been the 123gr Scenars .5" groups at 300yds, 1" groups at 500yds.

Thanks Lucas - it's great to get some confirmation about caliber and barrel manufacturer choices!!!! Do you happen to know what powder, charge weight, primers, OAL, brass, etc. the guys are using with these various bullets? I'm surprised the lighter weigh scenar is out-performing the 139 gr scenar? Shouldn't the heavier bullet do better against the wind? or is the reduced recoil of the lighter bullet helping out?

The 123 Scenar just seems to be liked by a coupple of rifles.... a 6.5x47 Lapua with a 1:8 twist and a 6.5x55 Swedish with a 1:10. Of course in really tough conditons (high gusty winds at long range) the 139's and other higher BC bullets may perform better. I was talking strictly accuracy. I plan to use the 140gr VLD's... I expect better than 1/2 MOA at 500yds. I can try and get some load specifics for you on the Creedmoor, I have one buddy currently using it. Off the top of my head I think he's using H4350, with CCI BR-2 primers and of course Hornady brass... I'm not sure which bullets he's currently using.

H4350 is great powder and I use it my 260 Rem (40.7gr). While the 6.5 Creedmore has a ever-so-slightly smaller capacity, I'd definitely give it a shot,... literally Cheesy You should also try Reloader 15 & 17 to see if they'll do the job. The Berger 140gr VLD's, Lapua 139gr Scenars, and SMK 142's all shoot lights-out in my rifle.
