The first long range shooting i tried was at 450 yards with ol' 30-30 win. once i got my hold right i was hittin 2 liter bottles almost every shot. Then we moved to 600 crackin at paper plates...and yeah didn't do too well lol. I shot at 300 yards with my 30-30 (Hornady Leverevolution Bullets) a few weeks ago and was whackin pop cans 3 out of 5 times or so. Once i get my 270wsm back, i'll get out and touch'em a bit further. Can't wait!!!

450 with a 30-30 is darn good shooting. I read on another post that it sounded like you know Lucas?

Not really, were just from the same state, and same kind of terrain by the looks of his youtube vids. I've asked him a few questions here and there on youtube and whatnot.

I'll have to get out with Hill Billy some time, since we're neighbors. Going out to the Palisades (near Wenatchee) this weekend for some long range shooting fun. I got the Swaro rangefinder so I should be able to get my drop chart confirmed to a much greater distance (no more multiple ranging to get a mile).

Where in Ak were you at HB? Red October and I lived up there many years ago. He was back up there again a couple years ago and I was up there this last year. Lived in Skagway and been all over the inlet. Lived in Fairbanks too and loved it. Went to Anchorage this last year and helped my brother in-law move his family back down here. We made a special trip down to Homer to fish Halibut with Capt Bert on WildAlaskaCharters.com. He did us right and we caught a couple of really nice ones each. My Dad is still there in Fairbanks, about 30 years now. I'd Be there now if the wife would sit still for it...LOL. :{)
